Xuanqin Garrett, she/her

Postpartum Doula and Infant Care Specialist

Hello, my name is Xuanqin Garrett, but everyone calls me Xuan. I am a certified postpartum doula with a deep passion for nurturing families during one of life’s most transformative moments — the arrival of a new baby.

Born in China and now living in the United States for over a decade, I bring a unique blend of cultural wisdom and modern care to my practice. My approach is rooted in the traditional Chinese practice of zuo yuezi — a postpartum confinement period focused on rest, healing, and nourishment — which I personally experienced and deeply benefited from. I integrate these time-honored methods with contemporary American postpartum care to support families holistically and naturally. I completed my Postpartum Doula training with ProDoula in 2025 and am happy to be a certified doula combining my tradition skills for my clients. “Where ancient care meets modern motherhood” is my goal in your support.

Astrologically, I am a Taurus Sun with both my Moon and Rising in Cancer, born in the Year of the Monkey. This combination reflects the heart of my doula work: Taurus lends me a steady, grounded presence and a love for comfort and beauty, while Cancer infuses my care with deep emotional intuition, warmth, and maternal energy. The Monkey adds a spark of curiosity, adaptability, and cleverness — helping me navigate each family's unique journey with creativity and grace.

I am a mother of two beautiful daughters and have been married to my husband for ten years. Our home is filled with love, laughter, and the occasional DIY project — thanks to my husband’s handy skills and my role as his enthusiastic assistant.

Outside of doula work, I find joy in nature and creativity. I love hiking, traveling, roasting coffee beans, cooking wholesome meals, and foraging for wild mushrooms. I believe that food and nature carry a healing energy that nurtures both body and spirit — a philosophy I bring into my postpartum care.

I specialize in supporting families who value natural healing, holistic balance, and compassionate guidance. Whether it’s through herbal meals, gentle massage, breastfeeding support, or simply being a calm presence, I am here to walk alongside you during this sacred time.

I look forward to meeting you and being part of your beautiful journey into parenthood. From herbal soups to heartfelt support — I provide care that’s clever, cozy, and kind.
